Pearls of the Kingdom 3/22/2023

This past Sunday I had the sense the Holy Spirit speak these words, “do you feel like your lost, let My word be your compass.”

For some reason I was reminded quickly of my time in the army. One of the basic leadership classes required was on orienteering. A fancy word that means reading a maps terrain and using a compass to navigate from point A to point B. As long as I have my map, with starting coordinates and ending coordinates, using my compass to create an azimuth I can find my way from point A to point B. An azimuth is a fancy word that refers to the horizontal angle or direction of a compass bearing. Are you still with me? The key take away today, without a compass to establish my bearings, my direction to walk, I could walk around in circles, lost in the woods.

You are most likely wondering what is this all about. Back to my starting thought, Do you feel like you are lost? At times we find our lives are ever changing directions. Maybe you feel like your turned all around, lost your way, your direction. Maybe sense you have been walking in circles for hours. Your wondering which way do I go? What Path do I take? Wondering will I ever find my way home.

If you sense your lost, all is not lost, Like a Compass and Azimuth, God wants to assure you and I that He has given us the “tools” that we need to walk out our faith journey. He has given us the Holy Spirit and His written word to help lead us, to guide us in our journey. Keeping or eyes fixed upon, looking unto Jesus.

Heb 12 – “And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.”

Ps 119:105 “Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.”

Ps 43:3 “Send out your light and your truth; let them guide me. Let them lead me to your holy mountain, to the place where you live.”

Ps 25:5 “Guide (lead) me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.”

Pro 4:11-15 “Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many. I instruct you in the way of wisdom and lead you along straight paths. When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble. Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life. Do not set foot on the path of the wicked or walk in the way of evildoers. Avoid it, do not travel on it; turn from it and go on your way.”

Heb 3:1 “Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest.”

My friend, if you feel like you are lost today, not sure what way to go, what path to take, fix your eyes upon Jesus, let Gods word be your “compass” to lead you, to guide you with His truth, May His words be a light to your path and a guide to your steps that you may walk in the right way..
