Pearls of the Kingdom 8/16/23

I had the “pleasure” (being nice) of contacting a company for warranty service a few weeks ago. Maybe I am the only one who wonders why this seems so complicated trying to talk to a “real” person with customer service. My attempts to reach a real person was more of a “test in patience” than anything.

So, I find the owner’s manual to locate the customer service phone contact. Once I finally get connected, I am greeted with my first “phone tree”. After finding nothing here I am sent to another phone tree to navigate through the many options. Once I have found the right “tree limb” hoping to talk with a “real person,” I’m only greeted by a message.

“We are experiencing a high volume of phone calls toady and all our customer service representatives are busy. Your estimated wait time is 10 minutes. You may hold for the next available customer service representative or leave your phone number and the next available customer service representative will call you back. You will not lose your place in the call line.”

Has anyone else had this experience? Am I the only one who decides to wait the 10 minutes listening to advertisements? Every 2 minutes I am reminded of the “high call volume with the message, “All our customer service representatives are still busy, please remain on the line.”

I mention this today, as I am thankful that Jesus has made the way where you and I have direct access to God our Father. When I call out to God, He does not place me on hold. He is not too busy to hear my prayers. In my time of trouble, He hears my cries for help .

May we draw encouragement from the Psalmist:

Ps 3:4 “I cried out to the LORD, and he answered me from his holy mountain.”

Ps 18:6 “But in my distress I cried out to the LORD; yes, I prayed to my God for help.

He heard me from his sanctuary; my cry to him reached his ears.”

Ps 20:1 “In times of trouble, may the LORD answer your cry. May the name of the God of Jacob keep you safe from all harm. May he send you help from his sanctuary and strengthen you from Jerusalem.”

My hope for you today my friends, may you be assured how much God loves you. His ears are not deaf, He is able to hear your cry for help. He never puts you on “hold", He is always available to hear your prayers. His arm is not too short, He is able to reach you in your situation.

May you experience the faithfulness of God in your time of need!
